Our scout troops have been working in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1969 as the member
of the Hungarian Scout Association.
Our goal is the preservation of Hungarain culture, language and educating
our youth for Eupean style education and culture for love.
This organization is a non-profit,
we maintain ourselves from membership fees and fundraising activities.
There are nearly 100 children attending the organization from 4 to 14 years of age.
Sunday afternoon we meet every two weeks in the area of Woodside Priory School Portola Valley,
courtesy of the Hungarian Catholic Mission.
Our Scout troops work in conjunction with the San Francisco Area Hungarian School, where we have 8 Hungarian language education classes.
The pastor of the Hungarian Catholic Mission is Fr. Maurus Németh who has been recogzined by The Hungarian government in 2009 with the Golden Cross award, for his work with the Hungarian community in the United States.
Fr. Maurus honors the tradition that ties the Hungarians to the Priory, and makes available to our Hungarian School and Scout troops and other Hungarians to use of the various facilities of the school. This includes: chapel, classrooms, student dining hall, sport fields and performing arts center used for the various scouts activities and the Hungarian language classes.
